The Headquarters' Range: October 2026

It sure is nice to be back in the sunshine state! Hi all, my name is Kate Shuffitt Ramsey. I am joining the Florida Cattlemen’s Association team as the Director of Membership and Strategic Partnerships. My husband and I recently moved back to Florida from Colorado. I worked with National Cattlemen’s Beef Association for the past four years and though I loved the snow I am genuinely happy to be home and near family!
If you would like to know a bit about me and my role with FCA, keep reading. I am originally from Marion County where I grew up as a daughter of Extension Agent, Mark Shuffitt. My upbringing around cattle and horses led me to major in Animal Sciences at the University of Florida. I jumped into my career by heading to Texas to work on a bull stud. I then came home to work with Florida Cattle Ranchers before getting married and moving back West to Colorado. We aim to own land and cattle, in the meantime, you can find us spending our time on the water, something Florida certainly has more of than Colorado.
My first week as staff was during our recent Fall Quarterly. It was a pleasure to see familiar faces and meet new ones. In my role I plan to grow and maintain corporate advertising, sponsorships and partnership involvement. While strengthening Foundation funding and programs, as well as getting to know you all and becoming a resource for you!
I am a true people person and enjoy learning from others. If I don’t beat you to it, please come introduce yourself to me. My goal is to make it to your county meetings across the state. I look forward to meeting and serving all of our Florida Cattlemen Members!
Sincerely,
Kate Ramsey
