Hello everyone, I am John Williamson and I am honored to be your new Florida Cattlemen’s Association President for 2026/2027. For those of you that do not know me, I am a 4th generation cattleman and 7th generation Floridian from Okeechobee. I am blessed to work in our family operation, Williamson Cattle Company, alongside my father and sister. I have two sons, John Wesley and Brady, who are in college and represent the 5th generation.

This quote reminds us that even with our best laid plans, God is ultimately the one who is in control. We might have a clear vision of how we would like to accomplish something, but very seldom does our path coincide with our vision. As this year is winding down and as my service in this capacity comes to an end, I am amazed at how true this Proverb is as it relates to my path.

This passage reminds me how small lapses, neglected relationships, unattended spiritual life, or deferred responsibilities can grow into real problems that steal our joy and productivity. Practically speaking, it also brought to mind a conversation I once had with an old friend of mine, Steve Howell Jr. about “mending our fences.”
