The Headquarters' Range: March 2026

Over the past several months, you’ve seen a rotating cast of FCA staff take a turn behind the wheel of this column. From Abby and Jessica, to Benita and Sam, each has offered a glimpse into their corner of the association and the work that keeps FCA moving forward every day. I hope you’ve enjoyed reading these perspectives as much as we’ve enjoyed sharing them. One of the goals behind launching the Headquarters Range was to pull back the curtain a bit—to give members a better sense of what’s happening between conventions, meetings, and legislative sessions, and how the day-to-day work at headquarters ties directly back to the issues facing Florida’s cattle industry.

So now it’s come back around to my turn.

As I drove back from NCBA CattleCon in Nashville, it struck me that since last year’s Executive Vice President transition, we have now completed a full FCA cycle. Convention, Fall Quarterly, Year-End Quarterly, Legislative Quarterly, and the NCBA Convention—all the annual meetings that maintain the rhythm of this association’s undertakings.

Along the way, we’ve made a few small, subtle adjustments. Nothing flashy. Just thoughtful changes aimed at keeping FCA moving forward, staying responsive, and continuing to serve the grassroots membership that has always been the foundation of this organization.

I am sincerely grateful for the support, encouragement, and patience extended to me over the past year. It’s been an honor to step into this role, and I’m proud of the direction we’re headed. Most importantly, I’m encouraged by the steady leadership, engaged volunteers, and dedicated staff who continue to “LEAD THE WAY” for this association every day. I look forward to the future of the Florida Cattlemen’s Association and to continuing the work on behalf of Florida’s cattle industry.

-Dusty Holley
