The Headquarters' Range: February 2026

As the Water and Environmental Manager for the Florida Cattlemen’s Association, my focus is on helping protect the long-term viability of Florida’s cattle operations by working at the intersection of ranching, water, and environmental policy.

Much of my time is spent representing FCA and our members on issues related to water management, environmental regulation, and natural resource policy. This includes working closely with FCA task forces, agency partners, and Water Management Districts to ensure cattle producers have a voice in discussions that directly affect their operations.

In recent years, I have been heavily involved in efforts related to Best Management Practices (BMPs), helping ensure these programs remain practical, economical, science-based, and reflective of real-world ranching conditions. I have also created and continue to work on initiatives exploring payment for environmental services, which highlighting the important role ranchlands play in water storage, water quality, and overall ecosystem health.

Equally important, I work directly with individual ranchers across the state. When environmental or water-related issues arise, I help producers understand their options, navigate agency processes, and identify solutions. In most cases, this assistance is part of my work with FCA. For larger individual or more complex engineering situations, I or other professionals can assist producers on a contractual basis.

Florida’s cattle ranches provide tremendous environmental benefits while sustaining a vital agricultural industry. I am proud and honored to work on behalf of FCA members to help protect private property rights, strengthen relationships with regulatory partners, and ensure ranchers remain active leaders in shaping Florida’s water and environmental future.
