When you received this edition of The Florida Cattleman & Livestock Journal, you should have noticed it was plastic-wrapped, containing a member sticker and everything you need to get ready for the 2026 Florida Cattlemen’s Convention & Allied Trade Show.
The convention packet includes information and forms for sponsorship, preregistration, and the new combined registration/table reservation option. In addition, Allied Members will find details about trade show registration.
As we all know, the Postal Service runs at different speeds in different areas, so as soon as we have confirmation that November Magazines are in mailboxes, I will email members and make the convention materials available online. If you don’t receive that email, please check your junk folder and reach out to update your member contact information.
Our Convention remains one of the strongest events of its kind, thanks to the people who attend, the sponsors who support it, and the vendors who bring it to life. Our convention interns also play a huge role in the success of our convention; I will be posting 2026 convention intern applications soon. The room block at the JW Marriott opens November 3, and all booking details are in your packet. Please take a few minutes to read through the convention packet carefully, everything you need to make plans is right there.
Your membership is what keeps this association strong. I encourage you to get involved, strengthen your County Associations, and recruit new members. We’d love to recognize your recruitment efforts on stage at Convention as part of our “Just Ask” membership contest. We also honor past, current, and future leaders of Florida’s cattle industry through awards and scholarships at the Convention, so visit the Applications page on our website and talk with your county leaders about nominating deserving members.
We start preparing early for our June Convention, but there are several important events between now and then. Mark your calendar and preregister for the Year-End Quarterly in Ocala on December 4th, that’s right, just one day! We’re excited to debut a new one-day schedule for future Fall and Year-End Quarterly Meetings, which we hope will boost engagement at our already expanding quarterly meetings. Not long after that, we’ll meet again in Tallahassee January 20-21 for the FCA Legislative Quarterly.
Thank you for your continued support. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming Quarterly Meetings and Convention!
