Hello everyone, I am John Williamson and I am honored to be your new Florida Cattlemen’s Association President for 2026/2027. For those of you that do not know me, I am a 4th generation cattleman and 7th generation Floridian from Okeechobee. I am blessed to work in our family operation, Williamson Cattle Company, alongside my father and sister. I have two sons, John Wesley and Brady, who are in college and represent the 5th generation.
I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to my good friend Rick Moyer on a fantastic year! He has helped all of us “Lead the Way” with his unwavering passion for our industry and the State of Florida. It is not an easy task taking over the reins of FCA following the many great leaders that have come before you. Rick has set the bar high and continues to do so promoting our industry in a HUGE way.
By now we have completed another very successful convention. Thank you to all of our staff and volunteer leaders for a job well done! It takes a tremendous amount of effort, time and hard work to put together one of the top conventions in the country. I would also like to thank our many sponsors, Bull Donors and those of you that participated in the different fundraising efforts throughout the week.
My goals this year stem from years of service and the collaboration of the leaders before me. The association has grown and continues to grow in a direction that we should all be proud of. With that being said, I hope to continue adding new members, increase our legislative presence, expand our youth involvement and improve our organizational structure.
Our association was built on the fundamentals of Faith, Family and Stewardship. The FCA slogan for this year, “Keepers of His Land”, embodies these principals. We as an association have and will continue to face many great challenges. There is no other association that protects our way of life like the Florida Cattlemen’s. I am confident that in keeping our fundamentals at the forefront, we will always remain “Keepers of His Land.”
