As we begin a new school year and our “free labor” returns to the classroom, we anticipate falls arrival. It has been a hot and busy summer for most of us with many pressing issues to be dealt with. As I write my second article as your FCA President, I recognize that nothing truly prepares you for the complexities of our industry. Like most presidents, I started with a wish list and an agenda, but our focus quickly shifted to more pressing issues.

Hello everyone, I am John Williamson and I am honored to be your new Florida Cattlemen’s Association President for 2026/2027. For those of you that do not know me, I am a 4th generation cattleman and 7th generation Floridian from Okeechobee. I am blessed to work in our family operation, Williamson Cattle Company, alongside my father and sister. I have two sons, John Wesley and Brady, who are in college and represent the 5th generation.
