November Sweetheart’s Message

Hello everyone!

It sure has been a busy few weeks for me! It started off with me attending the Florida Cattlemen’s Association quarterly meeting. There we conducted business, shared ideas, and fellowshipped with each other. A big thank you to the Gill Family, Hillsborough County Cattlemen and Cattlewomen, for hosting us and providing such a delicious meal.
The following weekend I attended the FCA Replacement Heifer Sale held at the Arcadia Livestock Market. Thank you to all of our consignors and congratulations to those of you who got to take some of those quality heifers’ home! Also thank you to the committee who make this event possible!

The same weekend I also got to attend the Florida Cattlewomen Short Course held at the Sumter County Farmers Market. It was so interesting to go behind the scenes of what happens at a livestock market. We learned from the time the cattle get dropped off, to how they get sorted and penned, how to bid, and got to understand the number coding system that the market works on. Also, congratulations to the winners of our first annual “Queen of the Rope” contest! Amy Barrett, with Hernando County Cattlewomen took 1st Place, Danielle Olney, with Pasco County Cattlewomen, took 2nd Place, and Misty Durrance Matthews, with Highlands County Cattlewomen, took 3rd place!

Every year attending the FCA Ranch Rodeo State Finals I feel so proud to live in a country where we recognize our talents, our country, give glory to God, recognize our service men and women, and honor our fallen cowboys. Thank you so much to everyone who makes this event happen! I was so honored to carry the American flag during grand entry this year and represent the Florida Cattlemen’s Association alongside our President, Matt Pearce. Congratulations to everyone who competed, your 2019 FCA Ranch Rodeo Finals Champion is Trinity Ranch, Second Overall goes to Raney Cattle, and Drop Anchor take Third Overall! Aside from the rodeo, Saturday morning the 12th Annual Whip Popping contest took place and I had the fun job of announcing it. Congratulations to the Waldman brothers for taking the top three prizes, Grayson Waldman received first place, Josiah Waldman was second, and Ryan Waldman was third!

Remember if you have any questions or have an event that you would like me to attend, email me at

Thank you and God Bless!
