Sept. Jr. Trail
Hello again! I hope you all enjoyed my article last month as much as I enjoyed writing it. The months of July and August brought the Junior Cattlemen’s many good times and memories. In the month of July the officers and board of directors had our annual retreat in Crystal River/Homosassa River. It was a lot of fun and we got a lot planned out for the year. A big thank you to our advisors Christine Damron and Stephanie Conrad for the access to your vacation home and boats. Also in July we held our annual JFCA Points Series Show in Kissimmee on the 24th thru the 26th. This show is always the kickoff for the series and this year we had our biggest crowd yet. Over 300 head and 175 exhibitors showed up to exhibit their cattle. We thank everyone who participated and made the show a success. Especially our advisor Gene Wingate and his wife Tamara for their hard work, as well as the entire Show Series Committee. You guys ROCK! I am writing this article as I am prepping for the second show in Ocala. I’ll make sure and let everyone know how the Showdown in O-Town was in my next article. The next show is September 5th and 6th in Manatee County hosted by the Lakewood Ranch FFA. Can’t wait to see all y’all there! September is one of my favorite months because it brings 2 of my favorite events throughout the year, the first quarterly and the GREAT Ranch Rodeo and Heritage Festival. I’m looking forward to meeting with all of you in Okeechobee on September 10th thru the 12th, and listening to the progress the association is making. Also I am beyond excited to participate in the Ranch Rodeo on September 26th and 27th. This event is always a great show of our heritage and roots. Please save these dates in your calendar and make it a point to be there. I am having a blast serving the association this year and I can’t wait to continue to meet more members and grow this association. God Bless!
