Nov. Jr. Trail

November, my favorite month of the year! Not only is this my favorite month, it is also the season for my favorite holiday. Thanksgiving is a joyous and very tasty time of the year. I always enjoy seeing my whole family, watching some football, and of course enjoying great food. It is also the perfect time to be thankful for all we have.

Now you should recognize what you’re thankful for on a daily basis, not just on a holiday. So I wanted to share what I am thankful for the most, and that is being a part of this great industry and association. The Cattlemen’s Association and the beef industry have been a great blessing to me and my family. It has given us something we can all enjoy and share with each other. Whether were enjoying steaks together, or working cows on an early morning were always there as a family.

I am also thankful for the friendships I have made. I never thought some of my closest friends would live in the cities of Ocala, Okeechobee, Wesley Chapel, and Myakka City. Not only have I created bonds throughout the state I have had the opportunity to attend the NCBA Convention and the National Beef Ambassador competition. There I met individuals from Colorado, Tennessee, Arkansas, Minnesota, California, Oregon, South Dakota, Wyoming and the list goes on. I still keep in contact with a lot of those people today while they make their impact on the beef industry.

But most importantly I am thankful for the JFCA. It has given me the chance to be a leader in a capacity where I am also a servant. I love seeing the smiles on young member’s faces, and the older members move on to bigger things on the collegiate or working levels. I enjoy speaking with members about their personal experiences and how they’re improving this world. I am thankful for each and every member that joins this organization, because you all make serving you worthwhile. So I now ask you to reflect what you are thankful for in this festive time. And until we meet again, ALWAYS be thankful for BEEF! God Bless!
