I hope this update finds you all doing well. Since my last update a lot has been going on in our association, both on the state and county levels. First and foremost, the first show of the 2015 JFCA Points Series kicked off in Kissimmee. Not only did our association have a record number or calves entered, but also we had a record number of exhibitors. The Kissimmee show was one of the best yet, if I do say so myself. I am sure many others would agree as well. Following the Kissimmee show, the Okeechobee and Manatee Shows have occurred. Both of these shows, once again, going off without a hitch. For those of you unable to attend the JFCA shows but still have a desire to stay in-the-know, please join the “Junior Florida Cattlemen’s Association” page on Facebook. Many updates on not only the shows but also the whole association are posted on there. I would like to give a special shout out to the JFCA Committee and the JFCA Points Series Show Board. From looking at the kind comments on Facebook that flood posts, to hearing how organized and happy parents, exhibitors, and animals are at shows, and the success of our youth members around the state and country, I feel that Florida has by far, the best youth cattlemen’s association in the nation! This month the new officer team with be attending the Florida Cattlemen’s Association Quarterly Meeting in Gainesville to discuss important issues, topics, and future events for our members to enjoy. Don’t forget about the Annual Florida Ranch Rodeo State Finals and Cowboy Heritage Festival, September 25th and 26th at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee! If at anytime you have a concern, question, or ideas please do not hesitate to contact me at (813) 333-8927.
