Sweetheart’s Sept. Message
Bom día! Last month I was fortunate enough to go to Brazil on a study abroad trip with the University of Florida. My program was a part of the Challenge 2050 Project at the University of Florida, which through accompaniment with local communities searches for global solutions to issues surrounding six systems which are affected by the worlds growing population. here I learned about international agricultural systems and practiced leadership within agriculture. I had the chance to work with and learn from executives of various agricultural companies in Brazil.
While I was visiting various farms and ranches and meeting with executives I gained a new appreciation for American agriculture. We are truly blessed to be living in a country with such a high standard of quality for producers and stewardship of our resources. I have gained a new appreciation not only for the efforts of American agriculturalists but the Florida Cattlemen and CattleWomen for our continued efforts to produce the highest quality products along with protecting the beauty of Florida and caring for our employees.
One take away that I had from my trip is to always advocate for the betterment of our agricultural practices and the support of the cattle industry and agriculture as a whole both through public perception and within our government. The best way that we can advocate for agriculture and the beef community is through effectively communicating each of our stories.
September will be a busy month for all of us between our day to day lives and management of our ranches we will have the opportunity to congregate at the fall quarterly meeting in Gainesville and at Ranch Rodeo at the end of the month. I am excited for the opportunity to talk with everyone hear the perspectives of our community. I am continually grateful for the opportunity to be an advocate of our community.
