Sweetheart’s Dec. Message
Happy December Y’all!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and enjoyed some time with their family, in the woods or at home. We have so much to be thankful for!
This past month I got to go to the Southern Women’s Show in Orlando with the American National Cattlewomen. We had a booth set up and handed out delicious Beef Checkoff samples and recipe cards. Ashley Hughes and I did some cooking demonstrations, and we had stations set up at our booth that taught consumers lots of facts about beef, including different cuts, how to properly slice beef, money saving tips, and cooking to the right temperature. I think everyone really enjoyed it and so many people told me how much they learned from our booth.
I also visited University High School in Orlando and spoke to 7 culinary classes. I love talking to youth and teaching them the facts. Many students told me they were glad to hear the other side of the issue for once. They had lots of questions and left with a better understanding and appreciation for the beef industry.
In November I also went to the Jackson County Cattlemen’s Meeting in Mariana. I got to tour the bull testing site at the North Florida Research and Education Center and see all the improvements they’ve made. They are doing so many cool things for the industry! They had a great meeting and steak supper and it was wonderful to be back in the northern part of the state.
The Kempfers had a great bull sale in November! I had so much fun hanging out with everyone and helping with the sale. Thanks to everyone for coming!
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
