Sept. Sweetheart Message
Happy back to school everyone! As I begin my third year at the University of Florida, I think about the people who have helped shape me into the person I am today through my education. The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at UF has the best professors I could ever ask for. Not only have my professors taught me more about agriculture than I imagined possible, but I think about my original teachers; my family. They taught me about our roots in the industry and the importance of providing a safe and nutritious product to consumers. One of my favorite things about being in college is being surrounded by so many people who know so little about the beef industry and being able to share my love and knowledge about beef with them.
This month I am challenging myself and all of you to try to teach at least one person something new about the beef industry! Tell them about our history, the health benefits of beef, or how it gets from our pastures to their plates. Think about someone in your life who taught you to love the beef industry and then try to be that person for someone else. We are the voices of our industry!
I had a great time at the JFCA kick off show at the Florida State Fairgrounds, seeing the youth in our industry so dedicated is inspiring. I cannot wait for more events and being able to share my story and teach more people about the beef industry. Although I am beginning a fully loaded semester at UF, please reach out to me about events you might want me to attend. I promise to try my absolute best to be at everything I can! You can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (863) 245-9711.
