Jan. Sweetheart Report
It’s a new year!! I hope everyone had a great time with their families during the holidays. I was able to come home, and spend some time with mine before I had to head back to Gainesville to finish up my last semester as an undergraduate.
As I enter the New Year, I have set a few goals for myself. One of which is that I would like to focus on incorporating beef into a healthy lifestyle, and sharing with others how to do so. In 2017, the Florida CattleWomen have decided to sponsor two savage races, one in the spring & one in the fall. I have challenged myself to become a part of Team BEEF! I cannot wait to start training and see how things go.
My spring semester will be busy, but I wouldn’t want it any other way. One of my favorite events, the FCA Legislative Quarterly, is coming up. I plan to bring members of Block & Bridle, as well as the Gator Collegiate CattleWomen, to put our boots on the hill and share our story! I highly recommend you all to attend this event, as it is an excellent opportunity to speak with our legislators.
The Junior’s point series shows have wrapped up, and I would just like to say how impressed I am with all of the youth. I was not able to attend all the points series shows, but from the few I was able to help out at, it is obvious to see that our Junior Association is filled with young leaders with a strong passion for the industry. If you ask me, it look’s like we will in be good hands for years to come.
I challenge you all to set a few goals for yourself. It could be something as simple as trying out a new recipe, or training for one of the savage races! May each day of the new year be filled with cheer & happiness for you & your families.
