Jan. Sweetheart Message
Happy New Year y’all!
I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season filled with family, love, and of course a good steak! I had an entire month off from UF this year and I could not be more thankful for the time with my family! I love the beginning of the year because it gives me an opportunity to set new goals for myself with absolutely no excuses. Whether you follow through with them or not, what are some of your New Year resolutions? Maybe it will be to try and eat a little healthier, although that seems impossible when you have a Granny who cooks as well as mine! At least beef is healthy, right! I think one of my top goals for 2018 is going to be to try and reach out to the youth more. Although I would like to think I am still 10, that is no longer the truth! I have been working closely with some of the local elementary schools about coming in to teach the students a little more about our industry and to tell our story! I am extremely excited to see what comes of working with my local Gainesville community.
I had a great time at the December quarterly meeting in Gainesville. It was a great study break to come and see familiar faces and learn what is happening within our association. I am even more excited for the Legislative quarterly in Tallahassee on January 16-18! I hope to see all of you there as we go and talk to our legislators, we need YOU to come! Wear your boots and a smile and let’s tell our story. With only six months left of being Sweetheart, please do not hesitate to ask me to come to a local event! You can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (863) 245-9711.
