Hello fellow FCA, FCW, and JFCA members,

Allyson Moore

My name is Allyson Moore and I am ecstatic to be your 2016-2017 JFCA Vice President! I am currently 16 years old and a Junior at Harmony High School. My family and I reside in Osceola county were we have a small herd of commercial cows. We AI our cows for my brother and I to show at The Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show and Fair and all over Florida in the JFCA point series shows. I have been involved in the cattle industry as soon as I could walk. I plan to continue my passion by obtaining a career in the industry. I am also a member of Harmony Sr. FFA and serve as the Vice President this year. I enjoy participating in Livestock Judging and Meat Judging teams. I have been a member of the Osceola County 4-H program for the past 10 years. By being active in 4-H and FFA I have been involved in the beef heifer program and market steer project.

After the state show this past July the Juniors headed to Okeechobee to participate in the OYLS Cattle Battle on August 12-13, 2016. A big thank you to the Okeechobee group for putting on a great show. The next shows in the point series are listed below:

  • September 16-17 Big Chief Classic in Fanning Springs
  • October 7-8 Kowtown Classic in Kissimmee
  • November 4-5 UF Livestock Judging Department at the Florida Horse Park in Belleview
  • December 9-10 Plant City FFA Alumni Show at the Hillsborough Fair grounds

On behalf of the 2016-2017 JFCA officer team we would like to encourage other Junior members and their families to come to the shows even if you cannot bring a calf. By coming you will meet new friends, learn new techniques, and network with others from all over the state. Please remember to like our Facebook page at “The Junior Florida Cattlemens Association” this is were we will share all important dates and information.

I would like to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to serve you. I cannot wait to see what is in store for this upcoming year in the youth beef industry and our association. If you have any questions or new ideas you may have please feel free to email any of the officers or me at allyson_moore@aol.com. I hope to see you at the upcoming beef shows and quarterlies!
