Hello everyone! My name is Casey Wingate and I’m excited to announce that I am your new 2016-2017 JFCA President! I am 16 years old and a senior in high school. I reside in Manatee County where my family and I run 60+ head of Chi, Maine, and Simmental cattle. My family and I have been raising and selling show calves for many years. I have been showing cattle for 10 years and plan to continue my career with cattle as I grow older.
Now I would like to take a moment to introduce the rest of the 2016-2017 JFCA officer team. Serving beside me as Vice-President is Allyson Moore from Osceola County. Secretary is Madi Conrad from Hillsborough County. Treasurer is Maddilyn Johnson from Levy County. Our Reporter is Ryan Beany from St. Lucie County. Chaplain is Harrell Phillips from Marion County. Our 2015-2016 President, Spencer Brass, automatically serves as our Ex-Offico. Serving on our Board of Directors is Clayton Brock from Hillsborough County and Taylynn Williamson from Pasco County.
Last month we had our first JFCA point series show. It was held in Tampa at the Florida State Fairgrounds. This show broke its previous records with even more cattle and exhibitors. The 3 day show was packed full of fun contests, such as livestock judging, fitting and grooming, and a photography contest, and a scholarship challenge for our collegiate members. On Friday night, we ate an amazing prime rib dinner while the 2015-2016 Points Series awards were announced. Saturday was a packed day with breed divisions and top 5 in steer, bull, and heifer shows. Thank you to all of our sponsors and help, this show would not be possible without their support. Overall, the show was a huge success and I’m excited for the rest of the point series shows.
I would like to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you this coming year, it is going to be great. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I hope to see you all at the first FCA quarterly on September 8th and 9th in Lake Wales where we will be planning and scheduling our year.
