Jan ’14 Jr. Trail
Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and set some challenging New Year’s resolutions. One of my goals for 2014 is to get more Juniors involved at a state level. I encourage all Junior Members to attend the Legislative Quarterly Meeting that is held in Tallahassee on March 11th – 13th. I attended this quarterly for the first time last year, and it was a lot of fun! We broke into groups and went around to different Representative’s and Senator’s offices to talk about bills that we support or that we are against. Later that night, we went to the “Party On Adams Street” where we served beef, swamp cabbage, and other yummy foods. Not many people have an opportunity like this, so take advantage of it! On behalf of the JFCA officer team, I would like to thank everyone for their donations to Operation Shoebox. We had a great turn out! I went to the office to drop off the donations with Mrs. Christine, and they were thrilled to see all of our items. After reading all the replies I received from the December Challenge, my mouth started to water! Many of you said that your favorite cut of beef was the Filet Mignon, Ribeye, or the New York Strip. For the first challenge of 2014, what is the correct internal temperature that you cook ground beef to? Remember, the first junior to email or facebook me gets a prize! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. You can contact me at 352-615-3060 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Looking forward to seeing you all in 2014!
