Sept. FCW Report
Be sure to mark your calendars for the next Cattlemen’s Quarterly meeting – September 7th & 8th in my hometown, Plant City! Meetings are scheduled at the HCC Trinkle Center and the Steak Out Dinner will be held at the Single R Ranch (thank you to the Futch Family) and hosted by the Hillsborough County Cattlemen & CattleWomen. Meeting scheduled and lodging information can be found on the FCA website. We look forward to seeing everyone!
This month is also our Ranch Rodeo Finals – a fun, exciting weekend at the Silver Spurs Arena. We are still looking for people to help out in our concession stands. If you are able to volunteer one or both nights, please contact Sarah Childs at (863) 441-0105 – she would be happy to put you to work!
I am happy to introduce our new Beef Ambassadors! Congratulations to Ryan Beany from St. Lucie County, our 2017-2018 Senior Beef Ambassador and Bailey Lavender from Orange County, our 2017-2018 Junior Beef Ambassador. There were great contestants for both divisions and it was wonderful to see their passion for the beef industry as they competed in the contest. Thank you to our judges, Debbie Gill, Michele Curts, and Richelle Miller Kleman, who were tasked with choosing just one of the contestants for each age division to represent FCW during the next year. Should you have any questions about the Beef Ambassador Program, contact Tami Newsome at email@example.com. Tami has worked with this program and our ambassadors for several years and would be more than happy to answer any questions you might have.
We are beginning to plan for the Florida CattleWomen’s Booth at the Florida State Fair – as you attend your county meetings, please consider having a group from your county host the booth for a day! This gives you the opportunity to speak one on one with consumers to promote BEEF and you can even promote a BEEF recipe from your own county! For more information, contact Tami Newsome at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for the FCW Clay Shoot on January 6, 2018 at the Quail Creek Plantation! Registration and sponsor forms will be available on the FCW website soon!
I appreciate all of the county cattlewomen who have invited myself and other FCW officers to attend their county meetings. If you would like someone from FCW to attend one of your county meetings to give an update about what’s going on around the state or answer any questions about becoming more involved in FCW, please don’t hesitate to contact me at email@example.com.
