May FCW Report

It’s hard to believe that spring has sprung and we are already into May.  Some spring showers have brought us greener pastures and calves on the ground.  May is the season that kicks off many celebrations to include National Beef Month, and also pays homage to National Barbecue Month.   As we begin the month start by giving that special Educator in your life as we recognize National Teacher Day on May 3rd with a Beef Gift Certificate instead of an Apple.  Cinco De Mayo falls on the first Thursday, May 5th and invite your friends and family to a Fiesta serving up some Confetti Beef Tacos.  Ready, set, serve Mint Juleps at Kentucky Derby parties along with Beef Tenderloin slices slathered with Henry Bain sauce and sandwiched between slices of doughy Beef Buns.  Mother’s Day should be a special time to celebrate our Mom’s and no better way to do that by serving her Beef – a Beef Tenderloin Steak with Blue Cheese Topping or on the lighter side, an Inside-Out Grilled Steak Salad.  Ending the month with National Burger Day on the 28th followed by Memorial Day on the 30th, so there’s no excuse why we cannot promote our industry by serving Beef entrees the entire month of May!  Let’s fire up the grill.
