It has been a fulfilled month for the Florida CattleWomen.
Ladies from all over the state met for our Beef Short Course, at the beautiful Southern Grace venue in Fort Lonesome. Our host was President elect Debbie Gill and her family. It was an exciting day meeting Whitney Miller the 1st winner of the TV show MasterChef. We all enjoyed a nice lunch sponsored by Past President Kim Strickland and her husband Butch. We watched Whitney give a Beef cooking demonstration and tips on cooking beef. Then our Master Beef Chef competition. We had 12 counties compete with over 100 ladies in attendance. What great and creative Beef dishes our Florida CattleWomen created. It was a tough competition. Sarasota county CattleWomen won the Championship Cookoff, with a close second from Polk County and third place was Hernando County CattleWomen. All teams were outstanding. The most fun was the fellowship with all these ladies. Thank you Debbie Gill for coming up with such a great event.
Thank you Becky Finley and Casie Holloway for representing FCW at the rodeo finals and to all the volunteers for working the concession stands.
Pasco county CattleWomen sponsored a mentorship dinner for female exhibitors showing cattle at the Pasco county fair, or was a great turn out.
FCW was honored to meet and visit with three ladies from the Seminole Indian CattleWomen. We look forward to working more closely with them in the near future.
Our membership is still growing and I can not be more happy about that. We will be having another contest next year.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the Tampa Fairgrounds November 9, 10 and 11th for the Holiday Market. Each day we will prepare a new recipe and give out recipe cards with the samples and literature about BEEF.
Our next quarterly will be November 29 and 30th in Clewiston.
See you soon
