FCA 2015-2016 Sweetheart Alex Lucas

My dear cattlemen and women, It is the month of love. What I want this month is for all of you to share your passion and love for our beef community. My love for this community has a root with my dad and my family. My family became involved in the beef industry because of a passion that my dad had for the industry. I

Some of my fondest memories while growing up were raising and exhibiting cattle at my County Fair and the Florida State Fair. This next month, I know many of you as youth exhibitors will be busy doing the same. I would just like to take this opportunity to wish all youth Beef exhibitors the best of luck.  Just remember – it’s not all about the

It is hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner and here in Florida the weather has been beautiful. It’s that time of year to count our blessings, give to those in need, enjoy spending time with our loved ones and to eat more BEEF. While many homes will have a traditional roasted bird gracing their table this holiday season, I hope many

FCW 2015 in Review

Melanie Fowle, 2015 ANCW President, adopted the John C. Maxwell quote “Change is inevitable; growth is optional” to define the national efforts this year. In response to the inevitable change occurring locally, the FCW leadership shifted much of its focus during 2015 from ‘business as usual’ promotion and education to identifying solutions to improve member experience, mission attainment, and overall organizational efficiency and quality. I’m

November FCW Report

November kicks off the FCW’s very first Public Relations Campaign, and I’m pretty excited! This campaign has been more than two years in the making. Like any good nonprofit, the FCW has to evaluate the return on each investment of our time and money. Back in 2013, the Board of Directors determined that providing beef shirts to fair exhibitors did not return enough benefit for
