Sweetheart’s July Message

I can’t believe I am writing my final message! What a fast and amazing ride this has been- one I will always remember and is just the start of many more wonderful things to come. This opportunity has opened so many doors for me and has truly been a life changing experience. This time last year I could have never began to imagine all the

July FCW Report

From my family to yours: Happy Independence Day!  I am the proud daughter of an Air Force colonel and the wife of a Marine- we are truly free because of the brave.  That, friends, is worth celebrating every day.  God bless America, the men and women who protect it, and the farmers and ranchers who keep us all fed. Reyna Hallworth, FCW President

I was recently reminded of the John Maxwell quote: “Change is inevitable, growth is optional.”  How is FCW growing to keep beef promotion and education efforts relevant in our ever-changing society?  We as members have changed, too.  What growth needs to occur for the association to meet the needs of the membership? The 2015 Annual Convention theme is Circle the Herd.  I look forward to

Sweetheart’s June Message

This past month wrapped up the 2015 legislative session, and what a session to call my first! While there were very few ag bills passed despite hard work and good legislation on the part of the agriculture industry, I greatly enjoyed watching and being a part of the process. I would like to commend our Brevard County cattleman, Speaker Steve Crisafulli, on a job well

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! Time is flying by. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by and how close we are to Convention. We have been so busy in Tallahassee! First, I got to attend the National Foundation for Women Legislators reception at the Old Capitol, where they had a delicious Fresh From Florida reception. There I got to interview

A  lot has happen-ed since the last time I wrote an article. In March I was able to show my market steer and my show heifer at the Florida Strawberry Festival. After that, I traveled to Tallahassee with my family to take part in the Legislative Quarterly. This is one of my favorite events throughout the year. I love being able to talk to congressman

Sweetheart’s Apr. Message

Hello everyone! What a busy month!! First I went to Lincoln High School in Tallahassee. I got to present to seven of their culinary classes and talk about BEEF! They loved the presentation and seeing pictures of Brahman bulls, real cowboys, working dogs and Florida’€™s beautiful ranches. We discussed nutrition, cooking, myths, and some fun recipes. These are some of my favorite types of events

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a great spring time. I’ve been busy with the State Fair and the Florida Strawberry Festival, and it was great to see cattle men at these events. However, since it’s spring time we all know what comes next… SUMMER! That means our Annual Convention and expo is approaching quickly. I am very excited to try out a

Sweetheart’s Mar. Message

This is one of my favorite times of the year. The weather is beautiful and I love seeing all the cowboy hats and boots storming Tallahassee! Let’s take over the hill! In January I got to shoot in the Florida Cattlewomen’€™s Shooting Tournament at Quail Creek Plantation. I shot on the Westville Meats team sponsored by my Washington County president, George Fisher. There was a
